A former admissions director of Touro College in New York City, NY was among 10 individuals indicted on charges that they altered student records in order to produce fraudulent records showing those students received degrees. Transcripts with completed degree requirements were also created for people who had not attended Touro College at all.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has stopped all research on infectious diseases that was being done with federal support at Texas A&M University. The university is accused of failing to report that two researchers were exposed during laboratory work. The CDC has put no end date on action.

The MIT Dean of Admissions who lied on her job resume and then never corrected the misunderstanding with the university has a college diploma after all. An MIT inquiry into Marilee Jones' resume raised some doubts about the veracity of her background, which claimed degrees from three different schools in New York. But she did receive a degree in biology in 1973 from College of Saint Rose in Albany according to reports.
