For £125 apiece, 20,000 people will pack into the O2 Arena in London, U.K. for the reunion performance of Led Zeppelin today, billed as a one-off gig. The band will be joined by Jason Bonham, the son of drummer John Bonham, on stage, only a handful of gigs played by the Led Zeppelin since they disbanded after the death of the elder Bonham in 1980, and the first full length concert.
Whether or not Robert Plant and co. can recapture the spirit of the 70's Led Zeppelin is probably besides the point. The gathering is in honor of late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. The show was also timed with the release of their retrospective The Complete Led Zeppelin (available on November 13 from iTunes) though it was rescheduled for Monday when guitarist Jimmy Page broke a finger. The Complete Led Zeppelin is 165 remastered tracks that span the band's career. T
The band has reportedly been rehearsing such tracks as No Quarter from the album Houses of the Holy and Ramble On from Led Zeppelin II.
