12/11/2007: Dave Matthews Band Returns with New Live Set

01:31:00 - Entertainment Posted by Andrew http://www.reayrx.com/

Dave Matthews Band latest live set Live at Piedmont Park hits shelves today. The three-disc set features the usual array of Dave Matthews Band hits including What Would You Say and Stay (Wasting Time).

Among the highlights are the gorgeous show opening One Sweet World and an intensely sinister 7 minute plus version of You Might Die Trying. Gregg Allman guests on The Allman Brothers Band's Melissa.

Of Dave Matthews Band numerous live albums, Live at Piedmont Park is certainly one of the better ones. The recording captures the energy and creativity of a Dave Matthews Band concert, often reinventing and extending studio tracks into almost unrecognizable creations. It's a process whose results are better appreciated at the venue then on your stereo. But it's nice that the band gives the fans opportunities to take home souvenirs from various shows. Maybe Dave Matthews Band are so polished now as a group that the integration of the various parts is seamless. Or maybe they just got lucky and picked a night when their sound is flawless. Whatever it is, this is a great addition to their live catalog.

A two-disc DVD of Live at Piedmont Park is also set for release today.
