02/11/2008: R.E.M. Accelerates European Tour

R.E.M. will kick off the release of its latest studio album with a world tour. European dates run July through September with a special one-off performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London on March 24. The performance will feature special guests Robyn Hitchcock, Foals and Duke Spirit. The new album, Accelerate is set for release March 31 in the U.K. and April 1 in the U.S.

R.E.M. previously announced U.S. dates. Tickets to the Langerado Festival in Big Cypress, Florida are currently on sale. R.E.M.'s fan community can begin purchasing pre-sale tickets on Wednesday, February 13 before they go on sale to the general public on February 15.
